CARE ABOUT YOUR WATCH

  • Magnetic field: avoid placing your watch over the loudspeaker or refrigerator because they have a strong magnetic field.

  • Swimming in the sea: always clean your watch with clean water after swimming

  • Impact: avoid high temperature or other impacts

  • Screw in crown: carefully tighten the crown to prevent water from penetrating into the inside of the watch. Non screw in type: press the crown back to the normal position to prevent water from penetrating into the inside of the watch.

  • Cleaning: clean the metal watch chain and all waterproof watch cases with a toothbrush and soapy water, and dry them with a soft cloth.

  • Chemicals: avoid direct contact with watches, solvents, detergents, perfumes and cosmetics, because they can trick the watch chains, watchcase and washers.

  • Temperature: avoid exposure to extreme temperatures (above 60 ° f or 140 ° F, below 0 ° f or 32 ° f) or end temperature differences.

  • Waterproof: the waterproof function of the watch cannot be guaranteed to remain unchanged forever. This may be affected by the aging of waterproof rubber ring, or the total external strike of waterproof components such as crown, button and crystal mirror. As specified in the maintenance instructions, we recommend that you send the watch to the maintenance center approved by SANDEX every year to check the waterproof function.

  • Timing button: do not operate the timing button in water to prevent water from entering the watch,

  • Power storage (automatic): the movement will automatically chain up with the wrist swing of the wearer. Because the wrist swing of the wearer will directly affect the operation of the automatic chain up mechanical system (pendulum), the wearer within 10-12 hours will help to generate sufficient power storage to ensure the normal operation of the watch at night. Therefore, the watch should be worn for 10 to 12 hours a day (normal daily activities) and for several days. If the watch is worn for insufficient time (not long enough or insufficient wrist movement) or irregularly (not every day), the power storage changes back to continuous consumption, and the watch needs to be manually chained. The crown must be rotated 15 to 20 times manually to generate sufficient power storage to ensure the accuracy of the hour meter. This simple procedure is also required for each new mechanical watch, which is also applicable to watches that are not operated or worn regularly / daily. Please note that a common misunderstanding is that shaking the automatic watch can generate enough kinetic energy to keep the watch accurate timing. However, this step is not enough to chain the main spring, and it is difficult to generate power storage, which eventually leads to the stoppage of the watch or the inability to accurately display the time.

  • Leather strap: it is recommended that you follow the following steps to protect your leather strap for as long as possible:
1.Avoid contact with water and moisture to prevent discoloration and deformation.
2.Avoid prolonged sun exposure to prevent fading.
3.Remember that leather is permeable! Avoid contact with greasy substances and cosmetics. It is not advisable to use leather cleaner to clean your watch.

COMMON PROBLEM

  • What is the difference between automatic chain feeding movement and manual chain feeding movement?

The difference between automatic chain feeding movement and manual chain feeding movement lies in the different chain feeding mode. The manual chain wristwatch needs manual chain every day, while the automatic chain wristwatch has internal friction, which uses the movement of the wrist to automatically chain. Automatic chain wristwatches usually have at least 38 hours of power storage. Even without the watch, they can still have enough energy storage to maintain stable operation.

  • What is the error of the SANDEX watches?

Automatic mechanical watches rely on the swing and up rotation of the arm during daily wear to supplement the spring and store energy to make it work. When the wearing time is less than 8 hours or the arm swing is less, the watch will stop when the energy is insufficient. The watch has not been worn for a long time. At the initial stage, about 30 turns on the watch must be manually used as energy reserve to obtain better travel time performance. There is an error in the travel time of the mechanical watch, and the error is calculated by the daily error (- 40 ~ + 75 / day). It cannot be accumulated. It is recommended to adjust the watch once a week according to the standard time

  • What is the waterproof depth of SANDEX watch?

The waterproof function of the watch cannot be guaranteed to remain unchanged forever. This may be affected by the aging of waterproof rubber ring or accidental impact on waterproof components such as crown, button and crystal mirror. As specified in the maintenance instructions, we recommend that you send the watch to a SANDEX approved maintenance center once a year to check its waterproof function.

  • When do most SANDEX watches change the date?

SANDEX uses a slow date change system to clearly display the date change process around midnight to avoid confusion. The calendar window can still display the date of the day until 11:30 midnight. By midnight, the date of the day can still be read completely through the bottom of the calendar window, and the new date will appear at the top of the calendar window. Then, the new date moves down to the window, and the date of the previous day will gradually disappear. This process will be completed between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. Manual date adjustment should be avoided between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. the next day, because automatic date change is in progress during this period.

  • What is life waterproof?

Life waterproof can only prevent the occasional absorption of water splashed by rain. Do not wash your face, shower, or swim.

  • What is regular maintenance?

Like other highly precise instruments, watches need regular maintenance to ensure perfect operation. Although we cannot explain the content of regular maintenance here, it depends entirely on the style, climate and maintenance of the wearer. According to the use of watches, the period of regular maintenance is usually every 4 to 5 years.

  • How should watches be maintained?

Do not touch the watch with solvents, mercury, cosmetics spray, or camphor, otherwise the watch strap, watchcase and so on will fade, deteriorate, or damage. Do not go near the magnetic items. Although there are antimagnetic devices, they are often near magnetic objects, which will make them not allowed to travel.
